Working Platform Nets

Your Construction Site Safety is Our Business - St Ives Safety Nets - Instinctively priding ourselves on the high standard of our work and in the way we deliver it.

Temporary Working Platform Nets are made from a 4.5mm black polypropylene 16 platted braid.  Runnage 125m per kilo.  Minimum tensile breaking strenght 280kg to ISO1805.  With a mesh size of 60mm.

Thermal Properties

Polypropylene plastifies about 150°C-155°C, Melts at 175°C

Polypropylene retains its flexibility at very low temperatures and does not become rigid under freezing conditions.  It burns slowly in the air, fine filaments to melt and drop away before propagating a flame.

Chemical Properties

PP, being a paraffin hydrocarbon is inherently chemically inert and highly resistant to a wide range of chemicals at ordinary temperatures.  PP fibers have a high resistance to acids and alkalis at all concentrations.  They are attacked by nitric acid.  They are insoluble in most common organic solvents at room temperature.

Electrical Properties

PP is an outstanding electrical insulator, especially to high frequency currents.

Insects and Micro-organisms

The fibers are not digested by insects and are completely resistant to bacteria, mildrew and other micro-organisms.  This makes them virtually rot proof.

Installation

WP nets are made to site requirements.  They are installed onto the structure using a high tension grid system.  This allows the nets to be tensioned and used in the manner as a temporary access platform.  They are installed as close as possible to the working platform.  They are installed indepently from safety nets which are beneath them.  The WP nets are installed using rope ties complying too BSEN 1263-2 standard.

This gives you a full fall arrest mansafe system.
