Vertical netting
The Net: Polypropylene black netting, twisted x 3 strands to make a finished twine that is approximately 1.8mm in diameter. The breaking force of the twine is 70kg to ISO 1805. Mesh size 50mm. The twine is then manufactured into sheet netting by use of a knotted net loom, after this process the netting is placed in a heat stabilising setting machine, at this stage the knots are pulled under pressure of approx 10 tons and set at a temperature of 10c for 5 minutes. This process ensures that the knots and mesh size is off the quality that is required. Polypropylene retains its flexibility at very low temperatures. It is tested for flammability to BS 5867 part 2 1980 Type B. This means it burns slowly in air, fine filaments tend to melt and drop away before propagating a flame. They are boarded with a 6mm blue twine with a breaking strain of 500kg.
Installation: The vertical nets are custom made. The top of the nets are fixed at the top to the steel profile using fixings e.g. M8GTD12-17. The steel profile is checked before work commences therefore the appropriate fixing can be found. The nets are then attached to the fixings using rope ties that comply with BSEN 1263-2 standard. The bottoms of the nets are attached to a handrail, in a way to suit specific site requirements.
A complete site visit will conclude which fixing is appropriate. Installation is achieved using a small scissor lift or a podium this varies between sites depending on hoists available and method statements agreed with the individual sites.
Vertical Safety Nets: A fall prevention using the 100mm safety nets with the Be-spoke Hook. This allows the user to have a total fall prevention system around the outer perimeter edge of the building. The safety nets are manufactured to various sizes and is installed to the outer slabs with the Be-spoke 10mm Hooks.
